Shelter dog gets confused after being given up by her family after seven years

One dog stood out in a group from Georgia’s Habersham Country Animal Shelter when they arrived at The Little Guild, West Cornwall, Connecticut. When chatting to the manager of the Habersham County shelter, the shelter staff discovered that everyone in Georgia had also recognized Jodi’s uniqueness.

“Jodi meant a lot to the staff and volunteers from their shelter,” Kelsey Turick, an employee at The Little Guild, told The Dodo. “Volunteers cried when they found out we were going to take in Jodi and find her a home!”

Jodi, a seven-year-old girl who had lived in Georgia with her family, was turned over at the Georgia shelter. She was nervous and unsure of what was going on when she arrived at The Little Guild, and the staff members who welcomed her could see she didn’t know where her family had gone.

When [she] first arrived, Turick recalled, “[she] was really afraid and all she wanted to do was go home.”

@littleguildJodi, 7 years old, is the best dog. She is a lover of dogs, cats and kids. She loves to go on walks, car rides, and just relax on the couch. She would be a great addition to your family! Jodi has become more comfortable in her new environment and developed friendships with staff and volunteers. She trusts her new friends and has a remarkable personality, making it easier for everyone to fall in love with her.

“She has a great personality and always wants to be with people,” Turick said. “She loves to play fetch outside but also loves to snuggle up under a blanket with you. She is an older gal but still has lots of energy and loves her daily walks … She is a very special girl and means a lot to us.”

It’s incredible that Jodi hasn’t been adopted yet, especially considering how well she would fit in with practically any family. She loves children, cats, dogs and just wants to spend as much time with her family as she can. She is being contacted by people interested in adopting her and they are scheduled to meet her soon.

All of Jodi’s friends, both in Georgia and Connecticut, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the appropriate family for her.
