Shargeek, a Chinese accessory manufacturer, is doing great things in the charging arena. I tried the 25600mAh Storm 2For the past three months, I have been using this power bank with great success. Its unique design with yellow accents and see-through appearance makes it stand apart from other power banks. It also has all the necessary charging ports, which can reach up to 100W over USB PD.
The Storm 2’s best feature, however, is the screen built in that displays real-time charging statistics. It’s cool to see the charging speed of a notebook or phone in real time. This feature is more important than the transparent design. Although I love the Storm 2, I find it a bit bulkier (579g), and don’t really need all of the ports.
The Storm 2 Slim is the solution. Shargeek used the Storm 2’s basic design but reduced it to a smaller size and eliminated some features like the DC port. The Storm 2 Slim features a 20000mAh lithium battery, one USB C port and one USB A port. It also has a slimmer design, making it easier to carry around on the road.
The Storm 2 Slim is thinner and taller than the standard Storm 2, and that makes a huge difference for portable use — it’s easier to slot the power bank into a bag. The Storm 2 Slim weighs only 448g. However, the 20000mAh battery is still included.
Shargeek hasn’t changed its two biggest distinguishing features: the built-in screen and see-through design. The Storm 2 Slim looks better with its white accents, and lavender-colored batteries. It is a lot more polished than the Storm 2’s yellow accents. The see-through design is just as evocative here — you get to see the circuit board and internal ICs, and it looks very cool.
The Storm 2 Slim’s acrylic outer shell allows for a see-through design. It is also the same housing as Storm 2. Although I was initially concerned about the durability of its outer shell, I have found that the Storm 2 Slim has fared just as well in daily use over the three months I owned it.
The screen: the built in IPS panel is my favorite feature on a battery bank. It displays real-time charging statistics. You can adjust the time that the screen remains on through the onboard settings.
Storm 2 Slim comes with a USB C port to charge, and a USB A port to connect accessories. Both ports are compatible with USB PD 3.0 protocol. The USB-C port is capable of delivering up to 100W while the USB-A port is capable of delivering 30W. The best thing about the Storm 2 Slim? It has the full 130W power budget, and although it only has one USB-C port, it offers a higher net rate at 130W.
Before I get into the real-world application, let’s take a look at the power profiles.

Shargeek packs a yellow charging cord in the Storm 2 Slim box. It is compatible with the 100W USB PD standard and can be used to charge the battery.
