A school bus crash in Eastern Kentucky Monday has sent 18 students and a driver to regional hospitals with “varying degrees of injuries,” officials say.
Magoffin County School district The crash was saidIt was on Route 40, east of Lexington, near Salyersville.
“Based on preliminary investigation, Bus 2030 was carrying 18 passengers and the driver. It stated that there were no fatalities as of the time of this statement. However, the driver and students sustained varying degrees injuries.
“They were flown by helicopter or ambulance to regional hospitals. “The district would like thank everyone who assisted at the scene,” it said.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear described it as a “serious accident on a bus.”
