Senior Rescue Lab’s Amazing Weight Loss Motivates Us to Hit The Gym

Although dogs are forbidden from living a body shameful lifestyle and conforming to social expectations, there are situations in which a dog’s diet could be beneficial and healthy. One of these occasions is when a dog is extremely fat, such as Morris, who arrived at Happy Tails Animal Rescue Australia. The senior Black Labrador was meant to be put to rest due to his excessive weight. But this incredible rescue team understood that things could be different.

Morris and his rescuers joined 7News Queensland for a discussion about their year of loving, nutritious meals, motivational exercise, and lots and lots of affection. After watching this, we’re so amazed and motivated that we’re ready to go to the gym.

@7newsqAfter a rigorous diet, a Brisbane dog lost 25kg within a year. Morris, an 11 year-old Labrador, weighed in at 75kg. He was surrendered to a shelter and had to be put down. However, Happy Tails Animal Rescue has given Morris a new lease on his life. #dog #dogs #dogsoftiktok #labrador #labradorsoftiktok #pet #pets #petstory #animal #animals #animalsoftiktok #bne #bris #brisbane #qld #queensland #aus #australia #7NEWS ♬ original sound – 7NEWS Queensland

Morris, you go! It can’t be simple to lose 25 kilos, or little over 55 pounds, but he and the Happy Tails staff more than succeeded in doing so. We cannot imagine how happy they must have been!

It should go without saying that the viewers of this video are as thrilled with Morris’ transformation as we are. Sincerely, it’s difficult not to be motivated by this tale! But at the same time, it’s heartbreaking to watch an animal in such poor condition, especially when they have no say in what they consume.

“Poor thing, God bless him,” wrote commenter @malouf8. “This really saddens me, keep going Morris xx.” Isn’t it so relieving to know he’s being cared for now?

@Charliegirl053 also made a thought-provoking point when she said, “His previous owners DID NOT love him!!” Although we don’t know the whole story, it’s hard to feel upset that Morris’s weight even got so high in the first place. His healthy recovery is what matters most now!
