The American singer revealed that she was hesitant and almost didn’t release her documentary titled Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.
In recent years, while there has been an increase in the number of celebrity documentaries, Selena Gomez’s project definitely stands out as one of the most candid projects in recent years.
The RareA documentary about the rise and fall of the singer, a fearless exploration. The 30-year-old singers’ documentary surrounds itself with some of the most touching moments in her life.
The documentary Selena Gomez – My Mind and MeThe documentary covers her lupus diagnosis as well as her mental health journey and bipolar diagnosis. Her activism and how she uses her platform to influence others is also covered in the documentary.
Selena Gomez spoke out about her hesitations about releasing the documentary to the public before it was released.
Talking to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, she said, “I’m just so nervous. Because I have the platform I have, it’s kind of like I’m sacrificing myself a little bit for a greater purpose.”
“I don’t want that to sound dramatic, but I almost wasn’t going to put this out,” Gomez continued. “God’s honest truth, a few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure I could do it,” she added.
The songstress also confessed that she wanted someone to tell her that her documentary was “too intense” but rather touched everyone who watched it.
