And talkSPORT’s Micky Gray believes the threat of Man City might be a step too far for Arteta’s young side.

Gray said on commentary for talkSPORT: “The big question for Arsenal over many years has been, have they got the longevity?

“All it takes is bringing one superstar into your dressing room and they’ve done that in Gabriel Jesus.

When asked if Arsenal will pip City to the title this season he replied: “No they won’t.

“But in a one off game [against City]… that’s the big test for Arteta to see how far Arsenal have really come because Manchester City have improved, Arsenal have certainly improved, but is the test too much for Arsenal?

“I think it possibly is going for the Premier League title but Arsenal look as though they’re going to finish easily in the top four.”
