Samsung’s global rollout has begun for Maintenance Mode. This feature is designed to protect your most personal information.

This new mode gives users the ability to have peace of mind in case their device has to be repaired. You will be able to block access from others to your private information like your photos, contacts, and texts.

Users must navigate to Maintenance Mode in order to activate it. Settings > Battery and device care > Maintenance Mode Then, restart the device. This will prevent access to your personal information, photos and text messages.
Samsung adds that Maintenance Mode also blocks another person’s access to user-installed applications. All data and accounts created during Maintenance Mode are automatically deleted when the owner turns it off.
Samsung continues to stress that Galaxy devices have Samsung Knox protection, which provides increased security.
