Sacramento firefighters saved Sunday’s life of a dog that was found in a house fire in Arden-Arcade.
The Sacramento Metro Fire District dispatched firefighters to a house near Whitney Avenue, Country Club Lane at 10:30 am on Sunday after receiving reports that it was on fire.
Firefighters discovered a dog and a cat that were both in serious condition inside the house. They managed to save both. Firefighters used an oxygen tank in order to revive the dog.
Metro Fire is responding in a house fire at Arden Avenue. No injuries were sustained when the fire was put out at its source. The family was able to rescue a dog who was unconscious within the home and have it resuscitated. Another cat was also saved, but it ran away, as do most cats. pic.twitter.com/icOHwxbaST

Firefighters say the cat fled after being saved, but the dog was eventually returned to its owners.
Firefighting efforts did not cause any injuries additional, and authorities are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
