Rupert Murdoch, Fox Corp. Chairman, to be Deposed in Defamation Case

  • Dominion Voting System is currently pursuing a $1.6 Billion defamation suit against Fox News.
  • The suit claims that the network made false claims regarding the 2020 election results.
  • Rupert Murdoch is the chairman of Fox Corp. and will be the most senior person to be deposed in this case.

Rupert Murdoch will be the chairman of Fox News parent company Fox Corp next week as part of Dominion Voting Systems $1.6 billion-dollar lawsuit. 

Murdoch will be interrogated via videoconference on December 13 and 14, per a filing to Delaware’s Superior Court. The Washington Post. His testimony is being required as part of Dominion’s defamation lawsuitFox News is being attacked. According to Fox News, the network broadcast false election fraud claims in an effort to increase viewership following President Donald Trump’s defeat.

Dominion Voting Systems has also filed defamation suitsConcerning claims that its computers helped to rig 2020’s election. These cases include those against Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, former Trump lawyers, as well as Mike Lindell, MyPillow CEO. 

Insider requested comment from the attorneys for Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems, but they did not respond immediately.
