Tottenham welcomes Brighton to the Amex Stadium this Saturday, where Roberto De Zerbi will take charge of his home debut.
The Italian’s opening game in the Premier League was impressive as the Seagulls Liverpool, 3-3, drew the draw.
Now the next challenge for De Zerbi is to face Antonio Conte’s Spurs, who won 2-0 on the south coast in this fixture last season.
The clothes of north London were Arsenal defeats Arsenal in the derbyThey were unsuccessful last time out, and they are keen to win again after midweek’s goalless draw.
After four clashes in Serie A, Conte has been a consistent opponent of the former Sassuolo boss.
De Zerbi lost all four of these games.
Between 2019 and 2021, Conte’s Inter beat Sassuolo 4-3, 3-0 and 2-1 with the draw being a high-scoring 3-3.
This means there have been 19 goals in four games between the two managers and therefore Saturday’s fixture looks set to be an exciting one.
De Zerbi will try to stop his winless streak in the match against Conte this weekend. The stats will be pleasing to him.
Brighton have won seven of their seven home matches this season, which has helped them rise to fourth place in the Premier League table.
Spurs have not won back-to-back top flight games away from the Seagulls in 40 years. The last time this happened was 1982.
De Zerbi will therefore be hopeful of scoring a victory as the Italian bosses revive their rivalry in a game with the possibility of becoming a classic.
