Expect some reaction from celebrities who make guest appearances on TV shows.
Rita Ora was certainly a hit when she appeared on the German version. The VoiceHowever, she might have been misled by mild confusion.
For those who have never seen one The VoiceIt’s basically a contest in which the judges cannot see the singer singing. The judges base their decision on the contestant’s voice and can only see the person after they have pressed a button.
Ora’s good news was that all four judges turned their backs when she sang. Unfortunately, none of the judges recognized her.
Below is an edited transcript of the exchange between Rita (after she had finished singing) and the judges:
Rita: Rita, what did you do?
Mark: It sounded almost exactly like the original
Yvonne: It really did.
Michi: “What is your name? Where are you from?”
Rita: Rita Ora is my name
Judge 2: You’re lying to us. Let me know if you are a double or–
Rita: Rita, “No, no, I’m a double, it is really me.”
Oh dear.
To be fair, everyone could have just been acting. The judges were aware that Ora was the one.
If so, it’s certainly some impressive acting. They looked genuine surprise when she spoke her name.

Bravo to Rita Ora, and to the judges. Despite the confusion and mild awkwardness they all manage quickly to get over it.
