Rick Scott: FBI Raid Beats Trump’s Fraud Suit as Midterms Motivator

Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott stated that most GOP voters care more about economic issues then a new civil case against Donald Trump. The suit alleges financial fraud. Scott predicts that some MAGA loyalists may be more motivated this fall to vote because of the government’s mushrooming investigations into Trump. 

“Some people are mad about…” Mar-a-Lago. Scott expressed concern about the midterm outlook and said that the majority of it will focus on how it impacts your family. Scott also stated that he anticipates that the November election will be driven by concerns over inflation, parental rights in schools, domestic criminality, and the impact of these issues on the economy. To regain control of the 50-50 Senate, Republicans must win just one seat in November. Scott, who oversees the Senate’s election arm this cycle has made Trump, and his ideas, an integral part of it. The 2022 CampaignMuch to their chagrinto disapprove Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. 

Scott acknowledged that he had not yet seen the suit, but he didn’t place much trust in New York Attorney General Letitia Jams. Submitted against Trump and three of Trump’s childrenOn Wednesday 

James charged Trump with falsifying financial information in an effort to “further enhance himself and cheat society” and is calling for $250 million in fines. This case and any related criminal offshoots are likely to go on for years.  

Scott stated that it is important for Trump supporters to see how former president Trump is being examined by federal investigators. 

“I think the FBI revved up the base — by doing the raid and not telling anyone why they did it,” Scott said.

Trump has encouraged the backlash against federal enforcement by branding the various investigations into him political and personal transactions as partisan “witchhunts.”
