“Return To Silent Hill” will see Konami’s horror franchise return to theaters.

Konami’s Silent Hill 2 Reimagining the game for PC and PlayStation 5 are not the only options. The company also announced that the story will be adapted into a major motion picture. Return to Silent HillThe film will be directed by Christophe Gans and will serve as a direct sequel of the 2006 original adaptation.

It seems that the project is still under development. The teaser trailer is not available. There are only a few storyboard images and bits of conceptual art. Gans spent the majority of the announcement talking about how the game will play. “We decided that we would go back to the best stories,” Gans said during Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission livestream. “The film tells the story of a young guy coming back to Silent Hill, where he has known a great love — and what he’s going to find is a pure nightmare.”

Victor Hadida, who worked on the 2006 film as well, will also be returning to produce. He says that the project plans to give the franchise an innovative twist but that it is important to keep the original spirit of the game. Gans seems to be in agreement, calling the original Silent Hill Games “great artistic achievements.”

Christophe Gans is an interesting speaker about the project. He talks about how the videogame can translate the rich narrative into a short 90-to 100-minute experience. However, we won’t be able to see how he does it for quite some while. Return to Silent Hill It does not have a release date yet.
