Huddersfield garage owner, a shopper through his security footage, noticed a dog in distress.
Evidently, the dog had a broken leg and was dragging it around. Her other legs were bound tightly by football socks. The man immediately contacted the RSPCA to inform them about the dog’s limping condition.
The officers discovered that the dog was in far worse condition than they expected when they found her. All her bones were protruding from what appeared to be weeks of starvation. To conceal the sores she had developed from neglect, the people who had previously handled her had tied her socks.
To remove her painful socks, Susie was sedated. She became the sweetest dog when she was treated by the Greater Manchester Animal Hospital in Salford. Unfortunately, Susie’s broken leg has started healing in the wrong position and will require amputation.
Susie was not equipped with a microchip and no information is available about her former owners. Her caretakers are focusing on Susie’s emaciated condition and hope that she will gain weight over the next few weeks. Contagious ringworm and contagious Sarcoptic Mange have placed her in isolation while she heals. She is not out of the woods yet, but the vets are positive that she’ll get better. Let’s send our prayers out to sweet Susie.
