Fiona Mc Clintock and Kim Reid, Katelyn Mannion were the rescue team and they did not seem to be bothered by lightning that roared in the dark and clear skies.
They knew that there were two German shepherd sisters in distress who were looking for help. They were determined to find them and didn’t stop until they did.
This group is known for its support in rescues of stray animals in Fermanagh, Ireland. They acted immediately they heard about the dogs. They carried out a three-day search in deep forests and on agricultural land.
The team began to worry that the dogs would not be found after three days.
Mannion said, “We were feeling a little deflated as we couldn’t get close to them, and we just wanted to bring them to safety.”
They eventually located the sisters hiding in a nearby farmer’s shed. Finally the hounds could be seen.
“It was a very intense, overwhelming feeling of pure joy and excitement,” Mannion said. “We were still very concerned for their well-being, but we were just so thrilled to have them in a secured area. There were definitely a few tears.”
Rescuers gave the canines the names Thora & Levina, and immediately began treatment. Little China Dog Rescue offered a rescue spot, while Lost Paws NI provided financial support. Crew was delighted that both businesses responded quickly and offered assistance.
As a result, Mannion stated, “This took so much pressure off us, and we could just really enjoy our time with them. It was almost euphoric! ”
Soon, the dogs had a new perspective on humans.
“Once they were caught and given the suitable medication and treatment they needed, they started to show their own personalities a bit more,” Mannion claimed. “They went from running away from people to asking for more cuddles.”
They are now used to their foster home and will be there until they can be adopted.
Although the girls’ narrative has a happy conclusion, the rescue crew is still puzzled as to where they came from.
Mannion stated, “We couldn’t ask for any better. They are so content, and they know they are so loved.”
