Reports: Who is David DePape? He is the suspected Pelosi attacker

According to multiple reports, the suspect assailant to Paul Pelosi (the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) espoused conspiracy theories online. These included claims that COVID-19 was a scam by global elites to control the economy and that the 2020 election had been stolen.

The suspect was identified as David DePape, 42, a Berkeley, California resident. According to San Francisco Police Department officials, DePape broke into Paul Pelosi’s home and assaulted him with a hammer.

Chief Bill Scott, Police Officer stated that “This wasn’t a random act.” “This was deliberate.”

According to reports, DePape’s past is mysterious and leads to an apparent obsession with extremist views.

The San Francisco Chronicle reportedAfter becoming estranged with his family in British Columbia DePape moved to the Bay Area. He joined a nudist group, and later became a maker of hemp jewelry. The newspaper found out that DePape was once a member the Green Party, which promotes environmentalalism, social justice, and grassroots democracy.

His latest political views and beliefs are still unclear. They may have taken a 180 based upon recent posts on a blog or social media account that appeared belonged to DePape. Some outlets viewed the accounts before they were taken down. These posts could not be independently verified by Insider.

DePape posted a series of questionable content to his Facebook page in 2021. These included videos from Mike Lindell (My Pillow CEO), alleging that the 2020 election had been stolen. Also, content that contained transphobic images and links that claimed that COVID-19 vaccines were deadly. CNN reported.

He also shared links to YouTube videos, with titles like “Democrat FARCE Commissioner to Investigate January 6th Capitol Riot COLLAPSES In Congress ,” according to the outlet. “Global Elites Want To Take Over Your Money!” (Revealed).”

CNN reports that he also shared content on a conspiracy theory that claimed global elites are using the pandemic to control the economy. He once wrote that politicians offered him bribes for further enslavement.

Laura Hayes, a friend who used to make hemp jewelry with DePape, shared with CNN that his recent posts were “sophobic in so many different ways” and full of “so much anger.”

DePape found an outlet through his personal blogs. One was registered under the name “david Depape” and linked to a Bay Area zipcode. NBC News reported.

The website of DePape was identified as the Sacramento Bee containedPosts on a variety of topics, including aliens, Jews, communism, vaccines, voter fraud, and vaccines.

The Bee reported that one of the blogs had posted as recently as yesterday.
