Rep. Karen Bass of Los Angeles is a mayoral candidate. She says that she does not feel safe after being burglarized.

Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass expressed misgivings about safety in Los Angeles after her home was burglarized last week – Refusing to make a glowing commentShe had previously spoken out about feeling secure in L.A.

Bass – who is running for mayor of Los Angeles – had two firearms stolen from her home on September 9. A video of Bass announcing the burglary was re-emerged, in which she stated that she would make safety in California a “10/10”.

Bass said that he felt safe during a Mayoral Debate five months ago. “I would rate a 10. “I would say a 10.

However, Bass later retracted her comments in an interview with Fox 11 Los Angeles Wednesday. She stated that her safety was “shattered.”

Bass stated, “I believed from the beginning that Angelinos safety was the top-most job of the mayor.”

The Democratic congresswoman also defends her possession of firearms. This was apparently a surprise to some city residents.

“I had guns for personal safety, as do many people. The Democratic congresswoman stated that she believes gun control is very important. “But I have never believed that people – if they wanted to have guns – should not have them.”

Rep. Karen Bass, D-Calif., said the burglary in her home was "very traumatic" and backtracked her comments saying that she felt safe in Los Angeles.

Two men were arrestedAccording to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the incident was related.

Authorities arrested Patricio Munoz, 42, and Juan Espinoza (24), Tuesday after they allegedly saw them get into the same vehicle that was left at Bass’ home during the robbery. Both men were arrested for residential burglary.

In June, Bass spoke to Fox News DigitalIf elected mayor, she will be “smart about crime”.

Bass stated that his plan called for officers to be stationed on the beat in any neighborhood where they feel there is a need. “But I believe that getting officers from behind the desk is the best way to get them on the beat quickly.”
