James, a full-back has been injured after limping off in second half of Tuesday’s 2-0 win against AC Milan.

Potter couldn’t provide much information about the England international’s immediate future after the injury to his knee.

“He’s [James]scheduled to see a specialist this weekend. Until we get that, there’s not too much I can add,” said Potter in his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to Aston Villa.

“It would be speculation on my perspective. Let’s wait and see. He felt not too bad yesterday but until you get these things checked, you never know.”

James is set to undergo final tests in the next 24 hours to assess the extent of the injury but it is believed that the 22-year-old wasn’t in too much discomfort in the hours following the game at the San Siro.

Similarly, Potter was unable to provide further information on N’Golo Kante but admitted the French World Cup winner had suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered in August.
