Chaim Bloom, however, has repeatedly gone out of his ways to state that the Red Sox are in a better position today and has the opportunity to keep Devers long-term. The idea of trading Devers this offseason, he said on Thursday, “isn’t on our radar.”
2. Trevor Story: Second baseman
The Red Sox have said that Story can still play shortstop, but it’s clear they prefer to keep him at second base. This season, he was an elite defender. Next year’s shift limits will make infield defense even more important. It is important to get more than 94 games from him.
