Travel insurance plans available from iTravelInsured

iTravelInsured offers six primary plans: Travel Lite, Travel SE, Travel LX, Travel LX Basic, Travel Sport, and Travel Essential. Each plan provides different protection options and covers different amounts.

Let’s take a look at the benefits of each plan.

The best plan for you will depend on what coverages are most important to you and your budget.

Travel LX plans, for instance, offer the best coverage limits and the highest cost but are also the most expensive. The Travel Lite plan, on the other hand, is for budget-conscious travellers. The coverage limits of the Travel Lite plan are lower than those offered by other plans. However, you will pay less for your policy.

These six plans are not the only ones offered by iTravelInsured. iTravelInsured also offers these plans for groups or individuals:

  • Multi-trip travel insurance plans
  • For seniors and missionaries, there is travel medical insurance.
  • Students enrolled in study abroad programs or cultural exchanges may be eligible for medical insurance.
  • International insurance plans

Additional coverage options are available at iTravelInsured

iTravelInsured only offers two optional add-ons to its top-tier Travel LX plan. These include CFAR(cancel for whatever reason) and IFAR coverage. These add-ons can only be purchased within 20 business days of your initial trip deposit.

To show you real-life examples of how much a policy from iTravelInsured would cost, we ran simulations.

The first example is a 45-year old female living in Alaska who takes a two-week trip into Belize and spends $4,000 on it. Depending on the coverage selected, the price can range from $90 to $417.

These prices are between 2.25% to 10% of the total trip costs, which is quite a large range. They are however somewhat within the range of Industry averages for travel insurance rates4% to 88% of the total trip costs

We next looked at the costs of the six iTravelInsurance options for a California resident who is 30 years old and intends to travel by plane to Iceland for 2 weeks. The trip costs are $6,000. Plan rates vary from $136.35 up to $529.94

In the previous example, we searched for coverage for a 55-year old Delaware resident traveling by plane to the United Kingdom. It cost $8,000.

The price of coverage ranges between $203 and $1,041, with Travel Essential being the most expensive and Travel LX being the most expensive. The LX plan offers more coverage than the Essential, so it makes sense. Although these prices are not as high as industry averages, they still represent a significant portion of the total trip cost for both top-tier and lower tier plans. They range from 2.5% to 13%.

These examples show that coverage costs increase with age. This is normal, regardless of the insurance company you are dealing with.
