A new installment of The Princess DiariesFranchise is now officially in place.
The iconic 2001 rom-com film The Princess Diaries which is based on Meg Cabot’s novels of the same name, bought young Anne Hathway to fame.
As per The Hollywood ReporterThe film The Princess Diaries 3Aadrita Mukerji, who is well-known for writing this article, is currently working on it. Reacher?, and Supergirl.
This film remains one of the most treasured classics in the romcom genre. The Princess DiariesThe story of Mia Thermopolis, a teenage actress played by Hathaway. She prefers to stay out of the limelight but her world falls apart when she discovers that she is the heir of the European crown Genovia.
Julie Andrews plays Queen Clarisse Renaldi, who guides her to become a princess. Despite mixed reviews, it was a huge success and saw Andrews and Hathaway return for the 2004 sequel entitled The Princess Diaries 2 – A Royal EngagementThis was the first time that Chris Pine was named Nicholas Devereaux.
The plot details of the upcoming film haven’t been confirmed yet but it is expected to continue the story in The Princess DiariesThe sequel Royal EngagementInstead, reboot the series.
It’s not yet known if Anne Hathway, the down-to Earth royal Mia Thermopolis will reprise her role in the next installment.
Talking to Entertainment TonightHathaway, who is also the on-screen grandmother Julie Andrews expressed interest in returning for the film. “I would more than entertain it, I’m pulling for it,” Hathaway said, “If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work.”
Disney has been receiving requests from fans to bring back Anne Hathway since the announcement.
Officially, Princess Diaries 3 has been announced, but Anne Hathaway still hasn’t signed up for it.
