Trent Alexander-Arnold has said he is determined to “always try and think positively” despite the fact that “people say things”, as he returned to form for Liverpool against Rangers amid scrutiny over some of his recent performances this season.
Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring in Liverpool’s comfortable 2-0 Champions League victory over Rangers on Tuesday evening with a sublime 25-yard free-kick into the top corner.
As he struggles for form, the 23-year old has been under greater scrutiny. He was last month called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the final international window before the 2022 World Cup, but was left on the bench against Italy and dropped from the matchday squad altogether for a draw with Germany.
