Taco Bell has brought back their Mexican Pizza as a permanent menu option this week. It is made up of a flour tortilla with ground beef and refried beans, then covered with another tortilla, sauce, cheese and tomatoes. Mexican pizza is a favorite for many years, but it has recently been made even more popular. Taco Bell will remove the following items from its 2020 menu.

Now, fast forward to next week and Mexican Pizza is officially back.
But one fast food rival had a menu announcement of its own in response — well, sort of.
Pizza Hut announced the “Italian taco” in a tweet. Pizza Hut tweeted “Taco Bell. We see your #MexicanPizza. And raise you the #ItalianTaco.”
However, the Italian taco was not a new concept.
Accompanying the tweet was a picture of a regular slice of pizza – but folded at the corners to resemble a taco shape.

Pizza Hut took a dig at Taco Bell during the long period when the Mexican pizza was out of stock.
“The best thing? This amazing innovation is not going to run out. “The Italian Taco has been here for a long time,” said a representative from Pizza Hut. Food & Wine.
