Heiskanen displayed his usual high standards defensively, but also showed his offensive flair. As is usually the case with Heiskanen, the score sheet doesn’t do justice to the impact he had on the game.

“I thought Miro was outstanding tonight from the back end,” head coach Pete DeBoer said, bringing Heiskanen up unprompted after the game. “It felt like he did what he wanted to do tonight with the puck and without it all over the ice, defensively and offensively.”

Heiskanen had both a goal as well as an assist in order to mark his contribution to the game. The rush ended with the goal in the second period. Jason Robertson. The two-man match was played flawlessly by Robertson and Heiskanen, Robertson making the perfect pass at net to score Heiskanen.

“I saw there was some open ice and I had a little time to make a play,” Heiskanen said. “Just saw him there and tried to make the pass. … I just try to find the open space. I know ‘Robo’ is going to see me somewhere so just try to find the open spot and stay there.
