Patriots, Robert Kraft sent a gift to the first woman to score a touchdown at a Massachusetts high school.

Brockton High SchoolsMcKenzie Quinn was a star Oct. 7, when she ran for a touchdown against Dartmouth. It was her first touchdown in a game on varsity and the first by a girl in school’s 125 year history.

Quinn was sent memorabilia by Robert Kraft, owner of the team, within five days.

According to Boston 25 News, Quinn began playing football after lacrosse was made a non-contact sport. 

“I’ve always been like gritty, if that makes sense, like I have always been down in the dirt playing around, like I work on a farm,” Quinn said in an interview.

Quinn is also a strong force in the classroom. She leads a senior class of more than 800 students with a 5.0 GPA.

Assistant Coach Matthew Campbell stated that she believes she can do anything with her academic skills, athleticism, and competitiveness. Colleges will be lined up to offer her admission to their school.

Quinn hopes that more girls follow her example, but she doesn’t believe she has “paved” the way. Quinn believes future girls are best able to continue the progress.

The following season will be 2021-2022. National Federation of State High School Associations11,094 girls took part in 11-person football.
