Oklahoma sex offender sentenced for child pornography: 40 years in prison

An alleged sex offender who is registered in Tulsa, OklahomaHe was sentenced to 40 year imprisonment on Thursday for transporting child pornography.

Matthew Alan McNair, 41 years old, was convicted of taking sexually explicit photos of an 18 month-old child, according to a U.S. Department of Justice. The incident occurred in Indiana in the summer of 2017.

According to the statement, McNair took three sexually explicit photos that summer of the toddler, on three separate dates.

McNair took the photos and returned to Oklahoma where he was at the time. He then uploaded them to his cloud account.

He was a Registered sex offenderMcNair was convicted of attempted criminal sexual assault in Illinois in 1999. McNair was actually convicted in Illinois of attempted criminal sexual assault in 1999. He had to register as an sex offender.

According to the Illinois State Police website McNair was 18 when the offense occurred, while the victim was twelve years old.

In May 2006, the Department of Justice launched Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative that aims at combating child sexual abuse and exploitation. McNair’s case was brought forward by Project Safe Childhood.

Several agencies participated in the case, including the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and Tulsa Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit.
