Oklahoma City Apple Store workers vote for unionization

According to The Wall Street JournalThe group calls itself the Penn Square Labor Alliance because the store is at Oklahoma City’s Penn Square Mall.

A total of 100 employees can be eligible for union membership at the store. According to the National Labor Relations Board’s information, 56 workers voted for the formation of a union and 32 against. The group is now planning to join the Communications Workers of America, which also represents workers from companies like AT&T and Verizon. Charity Lassiter was an employee of the Oklahoma City store, and was a member the organizing committee. The Journal“Now that the election has been won, it is our hope the management will accept the invitation to join us in building a company that puts workers first and profits last. We want to encourage employees to succeed.”
