Oklahoma Apple Store workers vote to unionize their second location

Workers at Apple’s Penn Square store in Oklahoma City have voted to unionize with the Communications Workers of America, with 56 yeses, and 32 nos. The National Labor Relations Board overseeing the election said 95 regular full-time or part-time employees of the store could vote.

It was only the second election in a US Apple store. Maryland workers were notified in June. Voted to unitein association with International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Atlanta was to host another election, but the CWA prevented it. We called it off, claiming that the company had made a fair election “impossible” by intimidating workers.

Apple has faced several complaints about anti-union tactics, including in Oklahoma — earlier this month, the CWA Company was indictedWith the NLRB. According to the union Apple interrogated workers at Penn Square and held captive audience meetings (even during busy launch day for the iPhone 14 Plus), according to reports. A report by Public Radio Tulsa), and told that they wouldn’t receive the same benefits as non-unionized stores if they voted to organize. This was supported by A report by Bloomberg that said Apple told employees at the unionized store in Maryland that they’d have to bargain for benefits being given to workers at its other stores.
