Hull City had to adjust their goalposts after officials said they were too big before the clash against Birmingham.
All hands were on deck TigersTo get the woodwork right-sized for the game, staff used measuring tapes and saws.
Following the match officials’ assessment, the Championship tie – which was set to kick-off at 3pm on Sunday – was delayed by 20 minutes.
As well as needing to readjust the goals at the MKM Stadium, the game’s HawkEye technology – which officials use to judge whether the ball had gone over the line – needed to be recalibrated as a result.
“Kick-off this afternoon has been delayed to 3:20pm,” Hull tweeted 25 minutes before the game was due to get underway.
“The match officials have informed the club that the goal posts need to be readjusted and HawkEye recalibrated before the match can start.”
A moment of peak EFL brilliance emerged shortly after the announcement about the delay in kick-off.
While fans waited for the game, officials and staff at Hull were seen gathering round one of the goal posts to get a measuring tape.
Staff were then seen cutting off the ends of goalposts to make sure they were the right size.
This isn’t the first time clubs have been told their goals are the wrong size in recent weeks,
Wigan Athletic, another Championship side was also told that their goal posts were different sizes.
The Tigers weren’t the only club struggling to get their game underway due to issues at their stadium, with Also, Leeds vs Arsenal was delayed. Players going off at Elland Road as a power surge cut ref equipment.
