No. 1 Georgia (8-0), remained undefeated after taking down their opponents, the Florida Gators(4-4) Saturday

The national champions came out of their locker room slow and allowed Florida to score the 17 first half points. Gators’ third quarter surge allowed them to reduce the 28-3 deficit at halftime.

But Kirby Smart’s BulldogsFlorida was finally defeated by two touchdown drives that ended in a victory 42-20.

The Dawgs won their fifth consecutive victory against the Gators in six years.

Quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 19 passes on 38 attempts, for a total of 361 yards. He is listed with two touchdowns and he also threw an interception. 

The highlight of today was when sophomores were introduced. Brock Bowers, tight endHe brought in a ball which was misdirected by a Florida player.

The ball bounced off linebacker Amari Burney’s helmet and somehow landed in Bower’s arms. Bowers was able take possession of the ball, and then he scampered to his end zone.

Burney got some redemption when he forced a second quarter fumble. The turnover resulted in a field-goal. Burney later intercepted Bennett.

Georgia ran up 555 yards total and converted two of their four fourth down attempts.

Anthony Richardson of Florida threw 271 yards. But those yards were mostly accumulated through two big plays, 78 and 41 yards. Trevor Etienne, a freshman running 53 yards, was able to reach the end zone. 

The Gators continue to fight against SEC opponentsTwelve of the 15 matches that were played have been lost.

Georgia’s tenth consecutive victory is just one day after Vince Dooley’s death.

VINCE DOOLEY, LEGENDARY GEORGIA FOOTBALL COACH, DIES AT AGE 90

Dooley had a record of 17-7-1 in his tenure against Florida. In 1980, Lindsay Scott was the recipient of a 93-yard touchdown from Buck Belue. This win over the Gators is one of the most cherished.

The Bulldogs won 26-21, an unlikely victory that led to their first national championship.

Georgia is expected to continue as the highest-ranked team in the country, according to the most recent polls.

Florida traveled to College Station next Saturday for a matchup against Texas A&M. No. No. 1 Georgia will host the No. On Nov. 5, 3 Tennessee will host No. The Bulldogs won five games consecutively in this series.
