New York woman, aged 70, is struck by a stray shot in Brooklyn

New York Police are searching for two suspects in the shooting death of a 70-year old woman by a stray gun. Brooklyn this week

According to policeThe incident took place at 2:10 p.m. Monday in Brooklyn’s Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood.

The New York Police Department released video showing two men engaging in a verbal dispute. One of the men pulled out the handgun and fired a round, before fleeing with a blue moped.

As she was leaving the Super Foodtown grocery shop with her shopping cart, she was hit in the left leg by the bullet.

She was transferred to Kings County Hospital where she was listed as stable.

New York City Councilman Chi Ossé, who represents the neighborhood, turned to Twitter shortly after the incident, saying the woman’s injury is not life-threatening.

He stated that the violence causes trauma to the community’s people. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the senior for her recovery.”
