When Vivo launched The X Fold, its first venture into foldables, it didn’t go unnoticed. It was impressive and had some significant improvements over the Samsung foldable. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 has been launched, and Vivo has added a new (ish) foldable to keep it competitive.
The Vivo X Fold++ is nearly identical to the predecessor. It’s essentially a reworked version of the X Fold, as its name implies. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. These upgrades are mostly internal and the phone is now powered by the latest version. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1Chipset (hence, the Plus in the title). The new battery has a 4,730mAh capacity, an increase from the 4,600mAh in the previous model. It also supports 80W wired charging, which is faster than the previous model’s 4,600mAh. The phone’s dimensions are and weight remain essentially unchanged, despite the larger battery.
Elsewhere, the specs are also unchanged, with the same impressive 50MP quad-camera setup with Zeiss optics and T* coating, 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6. The original model also features the same striking, eye-catching, grippy leatherback in three different colors.
On paper, the Vivo X Fold+Samsung is ahead Galaxy Z Fold 4This is especially true for charging and battery life. The phone is currently only available in China, and there are no plans for a global launch.
