A 15-year old girl in Detroit, MichiganAccording to police, he fatally stabbed his mother in the back during an argument at their home.
According to Detroit Police, the two were involved in an argument with knives on Thursday. The victim’s father witnessed the scene and drove up to witness the event. The victim, 41 years old, was taken to the hospital by her father.
The mother was left with severe injuries to her neck and chest. She would eventually die.
The stabbing incident left the teenager daughter fleeing the scene, but she later surrendered her to the police.

According to FOX 2, Detroit Police Commander Michael McGinnis stated that there was an argument, and that knives were brought into the equation. “She did flee the scene shortly after the incident, but her family was extremely helpful in getting him to surrender.”
McGinnis stated that the teenager suffered minor injuries during the altercation because her mother and she were both armed with knives.
McGinnis expressed “incredible sorrow” for McGinnis’ entire family, saying that McGinnis now has a daughter, a fifteen-year-old girl who was involved in the worst traumatic event.

The teenager was taken by the Detroit juvenile detention center for questioning. However, it is unknown if she will face criminal charges. This could have been a self-defense incident.
McGinnis stated that it could be a case of mutual combativity. “This will be a difficult case for the prosecutor, to review.”

Police say neither the mother nor the daughter have committed any crime. Criminal recordor a history mental health problems. McGinnis stated that the argument was typical of parent-child disputes.
“I’d just ask everybody to please leave out the weapons if they are in an argument,” he stated. “The years of healing that this family will need to go through is inconceivable.”
