Meta Staff Says Their CTO Doesn’t Want Them Writing Blind Posts

  • Meta staff stated in a Blind post, that Andrew Bosworth does not want them posting on this site.
  • One Meta employee claimed Bosworth went on a “rant” and that it was “bad” for their mental well-being.

Staff claimed that Andrew Boz Bosworth said to them that the site was bad for their mental health, and they should “get off” of it.

“Our CTO started ranting about how blindness is bad for your mental health. “But in just a few minutes, he addressed so much of the discussions over the past 2 weeks,” one Meta employee said. Published on BlindOn Wednesday

They said: “He clearly reads Blind every day and it’s hilarious because he is responsible for Metaverse efforts. Imagine reading thousands upon thousands of threads about the game that is missing its legs.

Some other Meta staffA few others joined the conversation, one stating that “he is right, but also he has no legs to support himself on,” while another stated that “my CTO was blind.”

Blind said Insider that it has more than 64,000 Meta employees signed upon its platform, which it claimed was more than three quarters the workforce.

Another Meta employee wrote on Blind, apparently quoting Bosworth: “Get off Blind. It’s terrible. It’s just misinformation and nonsense. A lot of people posted alleged confirmations that appeared very credible. They were blind.

The post continued: “People talk a lot about Bain. However, there weren’t any consultants involved. People claimed that I was going to quit. I am not quitting. I will be here. You are stuck with me. Get off of Blind … What are you doing to your mentals?” 

Blind asks users to enter their email address, job title, and employer when they join.  

Kyum Kim, the co-founder of Blind and chief business officer, said to Insider that he wasn’t surprised that Bosworth had read the posts.

He said, “It just proves that there is no better resource to understand the thoughts of people.” It also depicts the discomfort executives and companies might feel reading the discussions. But, they still continue to do so because they need it.”

Insider asked Meta for comment, but they did not respond immediately.
