Meet the World’s Smallest Dog

We’ve developed a fascination with ever-tinier pets in recent years. For practically every already-tiny breed, “teacup” breeds have been developed, which are the topic of much discussion. Pomeranian and Chihuahua are two of America’s most famous breeds. Many of them weigh less that 10 pounds. Although we may be accustomed to very few dogs living among us, it’s difficult to not be astounded by what appears to be the tiniest adult dog ever.

Milly is small in stature, but big in heart

The world’s tiniest dog, Milly, a purebred Chihuahua, has a significant claim to fame. We mean small when we say it. Milly is only slightly larger than most pocket pets. She is only four inches tall, and weighs one pound. Milly, who weighs two to a quarter pounds, is twice as large as the average guineapig.

As the world’s tiniest dog, Milly, also called “Miracle Milly,” holds the Guinness World Record. Milly is equally spoilt. Milly is exclusively fed human food by her dog parents. She sleeps in an infant cot. Although she is very small, her expectations are high!

How small is too small?

Milly is adorable but don’t buy the smallest puppy you can find. Smaller dogs are popular because they have the same characteristics as pocket pets. These dogs are able to be held and cuddled easily, receive smaller meals and require less exercise. These dogs can still show nuanced emotions, despite being small.

They require the same amount of training and specialized care that any other dog. They can be more difficult than the average puppy to care for. They require frequent bathroom breaks and may have size-related health problems. If you have a small dog, consider rescuing or at least thoroughly vetging your breeder.
