Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii: Earthquakes rattle, warning of an eruption

More earthquake swarms have already been identifiedAt the top of the largest active volcano in the world.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, Mauna Loa is still experiencing heightened unrest on Big Island.

13 small-magnitude earthquakes were detected by the observatory in areas that were historically seismically active during periods when there was no volcanic activity.

The monitoring data does not show any significant changes over the past 24 hours. This means that the activity is not likely to escalate into an eruption. There are no indications of an imminent eruption.
