Marjorie Taylor Greene warns Ron DeSantis to not run for President

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Florida Governor, told Ron DeSantis on Monday that he would not compete with former President Donald Trump to be the White House’s next president. Rumours abound that the two GOP heavyweights could face off for the Republican nomination for 2024.

At a Trump rally, OhioGreene encouraged DeSantis not to become governor of Florida, and stated that running for president would mean he would abandon his state. At Monday’s rally, Trump was expected announce his presidential candidacy. Instead, He teased a “big news” that he’d be making on November 15th.

Brian Glenn, Right Side Broadcasting Network host, told Greene that Trump’s possible campaign for the White House was discussed at the rally. “If anyone steps in the political ring to challenge President Trump, as far as being Republican nominee for 2024. We feel like it’s politically suicide. This is his party. He has to run.

Greene replied, “Absolutely. I think it’s obvious.”

She later stated, “What we need in the country, Brian,” that strong Republican governors such as Ron DeSantis are needed.

Greene stated, “We need strong Republican governors that fight, stay in the country for eight years, save their states, and not abandon their states and run for president or other major position.”

“My message to all is that if you’re thinking of running for President in 2024 against Donald Trump, please vote for President Trump,” she stated.

DeSantis has been widely considered a strong frontrunner for GOP presidential nomination in 2024. He has not yet announced a campaign. His gubernatorial opponent Charlie Crist, a Democratic nominee, used Greene’s rhetoric about DeSantis “abandoning” his state to run for president.

When Crist asked DeSantis to participate in a political debateDeSantis didn’t answer the question about whether he would serve a full-term as governor if elected.

Insider reached out to DeSantis and Greene representatives but they did not respond immediately.
