Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor GreeneKevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), warned the House Minority Leader that he must give McCarthy more power and leeway to please Republican voters in order to win control of Congress if his party wins.
If Republicans win the majority, McCarthy will be the next Speaker.
“I think that to be the best Speaker of the House and to please the base, he’s going to give me a lot of power and a lot of leeway,” Greene told The New York Times Magazine. “And if he doesn’t, they’re going to be very unhappy about it. I think that’s the best way to read that.”
“And that’s not in any way a threat at all,” the Republican firebrand continued. “I just think that’s reality.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA GOP Rep.) warned Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) that he should give her more “power and “leeway” in order to please Republican voters if he wins control of Congress.
Greene also suggested McCarthy be more aggressive against McCarthy. President Biden. She had written articles of impeachment against President Obama immediately after he was sworn to office in January 2021.
In February 2021, one month after her election, the controversial lawmaker was removed from her committee assignments. After conspiracy theories and social media posts were promoted, Democrats and 11 Republicans voted against her removal from the Education, Budget and Labor Committees.
The posts date back to her election. They include the congresswoman agreeing that the massacre at Parkland high school, Florida in 2018, was a “false-flag” operation. This casts doubt on whether or not a plane crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11.
Greene also posted a picture of herself holding a gun next to Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. and Rashida Talaib, D-Mich. She aligned herself and liked a Facebook comment that called for the assassination House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif).

McCarthy announced that Greene, along with fellow Republican Rep. Paul Gosar from Ariz., would see their committee assignments restored in November 2021. Gosar was censured by Democrats and two Republicans last year after tweeting a video depicting himself as an anime character assassinating Ocasio-Cortez and attacking Biden.
“They’ll have committees, the committee assignments they have now, they may have other committee assignments, they may have better committee assignments,” McCarthy said at the time. “Taylor Greene, she was just a freshman … She has a right to serve on committees.”
One month after she assumed office, the controversial lawmaker was taken off her committee assignments in Feb 2021.

According to Greene, she would love to be a member of the Oversight or Judiciary Committees. “I think both of those I’d be good on,” she said.
She said, “I fully deserve it,” “I’ve been treated like s—. “I have been treated as garbage.”
