Pep after the win: “It (in the first ha) was really good. We scored four goals but could have scored many more. It was harder after half-time. It was a great win, a great game. We enjoyed it against our competitors. It was a great afternoon.
“In general, it was very good how aggressively we were but they have quality when they have Bruno Fernandes or Christian Eriksen. Our players at the front helped make the difference in the first period. We were aware of all the spaces. While we can win or lose, there are many things that can be done better. Some players weren’t good today, so they need to improve.
“Perfection doesn’t exist, it’s impossible. But we have to try. Although we did well, there are many other players who made sloppy passes. This is unacceptable. We need to be more consistent. We were not great in some areas.
Haaland: The numbers speak for themselves. This is what he has done before. We always try to help him in his environment. It is amazing that he looks so hungry and competitive. The numbers are frightening, actually.
He can see 10 players running with no ball, and they are all trying to help each other. They see it. This is why we’ve been successful over the past few years. It’s effort and a desire to succeed that are the keys.
