Kieran Hedley and a friend were out in Bali, Indonesia during the first months of 2020 when it started to rain. They heard music and dance as they entered the temple they sought refuge in.
Hedley was able to hear a small dog covered in scabs and laying on the ground next to a piece of cardboard.
Hedley understood that he needed to help her.
I thought it was urgent,” he admitted to The Dodo.
Hedley believed that the dog was a stray and was just waiting for her owner to come.
He felt so bad for the dog. He called Bali Paws, which rehomes stray animal, to help him figure out the best way to go. Hedley wrapped his puppy in his T-shirt, and brought him back to his villa. He was happy to have professional assistance.
Bubbles was his first name, after realizing how bubbly she was.
Bali Paws provided essential vaccinations for Bubbles as well as treatment for her skin problem. Bubbles had Hedley assist her in adapting to life in the villa with the same people who took care of her the first two week she was there.
Hedley stated that the first 2 weeks were his most inspiring days. Because this dog was so timid, fearful and scared, I decided to stay up all night while watching it.
Bubbles quickly developed confidence. The dog who used to hide in the corner would now be constantly asking for fun.
Hedley had to leave Bali after the COVID-19 epidemic became more serious two months later. Bubbles couldn’t go with him, so he rushed to find her a stable, devoted family.
Hedley met a woman, who was eager to make new friends and was travelling to Bali from Italy. During the woman’s final days in Bali, she got to know Bubbles, and eventually, the two of them made their way back to Italy.
Bubbles and Hedley were reunited in Italy 2 years later. Bubbles felt at home with her old friend and started to lick him. Hedley was amazed at the progress made by the tiny puppy.
Getting to meet Bubbles again was “an extremely amazing moment, one of the most beautiful times in my life,” Hedley remarked. She “totally changed.”
Hedley is to thank Bubbles’ current success with her new family. Hedley will always remember the cute puppy who overcame every obstacle.
Hedley remarked, “She transformed my life in a really wonderful way.” “Every time I think of her, she motivates me continually.”
