Man in India creates an animal shelter rather than retiring

We all wanted to retire far away. At first, that was Leslie Robinson’s plan, when he reached 70 years old he wanted to retire in the Himalayas. He made a stop at Tamil Nadu in India and found the inspiration to stay for the next ten.

He was an animal lover and learned during his stay that the local authorities were planning to kill street dogs to control their population. He made 100 calls to stop the plan from happening and suggested an alternative method of controlling the population. He instead of going to the Himalayas, however, he starts the Arunachala Rescue Shelter and Animal Sanctuary.

Robinson now works with 23 other volunteers to help as many stray dog owners as possible. The shelter provides water, food, space for roaming, medical care, and lots of cuddles to the dogs.

Leslie Robinson’s choice to enter the animal rescue world is truly inspiring. Many animals in India owe his kindness their lives.

Robinson used his savings first, and later supported by private donors. The shelter doesn’t have enough money and there are always more animals in desperate need. Robinson inspired you to support the shelter. Here.
