Manchester City will continue to attack their FC Copenhagen rivals in Champions League after beating them in Sunday’s Manchester Derby.
After just eight matches, City has already scored 29 Premier League goals. Six goals have been scored in Champions League games from only two fixtures.
Could this be their year, with the Citizens trophy and high hopes for the Champions League trophy, the only piece of silverware they have not yet gotten, perhaps?
Erling Haaland scored 26 goals in only 21 appearances at the European competition. This is the highest rate of any player to have scored more than 20 goals in the tournament.
But it’s not just Haaland getting attacking returns in the Champions League for Man City.
João Cancelo has been directly involved in eight goals since the start of last season, scoring twice while assisting a further six goals, the most of any defender in this period.
