Lyft customers can now search for, reserve and pay for parking spaces in their cities from the app, according to reports. San Francisco Chronicle. According to Lyft, drivers can access the Lyft Parking feature by tapping on the steering wheel icon in the lower-right corner. Lyft’s website.
Lyft and SpotHero, an Illinois-based parking company, have partnered to make parking reservations possible. It is available via both the iOS and Android versions.
SpotHero’s service is available in More than 300 cities across the US & Canada but it’s unclear which cities are covered by the Lyft integration. Lyft only says that “Lyft Parking is currently available in select US markets.”
Demonstrations of the new parking feature show available parking spaces marked on a Google map with clearly labeled prices. It is similar to an online hotel reservation. To reserve a space, users can search for it on the app and scan a QR code. The app will require that users add their license plate number, as well other details about their car to this feature.
