LSU student is killed close to railroad tracks in downtown Baton Rouge

A senior at Louisiana State UniversityOn Friday morning, she was found in her Baton Rouge vehicle and shot to death.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Allison Rice (21 years old) was the victim of the shooting close to a set railroad tracks on Government Street. WAFB-TV. Police believe Rice was hit with at least five to six rounds of ammunition.

Investigators claimed that Rice was with friends in Baton Rouge’s Mid City before the shooting. She was believed to have been waiting for a train in the area when she was shot.

Police have not yet identified a suspect or motive as of Saturday morning.

Rice was, according to reports, a marketing major at LSU. On Friday, the university released the following statement:

“The LSU community is shocked to learn that senior Allison Rice was killed in an accident. Her family and friends are in our thoughts. We encourage anyone with more information to contact Baton Rouge Police.

“Any of her classmates and friends that want to talk about it or need assistance processing this loss, can contact the Mental Health Service in Student Health Center at 225-578-8744.

Rice worked with her brothers at The Shed BBQ, Baton Rouge. According to the restaurant, they are “beyond sorrowful at the tragic loss of one their own.”

Rice was originally from Geismar in Louisiana. She is a 2019 Dutchtown High School grad.
