Louis Tomlinson explains how Harry Styles’ initial success bothered him

Louis Tomlinson stated that Harry Styles was more successful in One Direction’s initial split. After One Direction’s 2016 hiatus, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson parted ways, Louis Tomlinson said it was a bother that Harry Styles was more successful than him. Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn all went on to have huge success as solo artists.

Each of these celebrities have released their own successful music. Styles went on to win a Grammy. He is also a well-known actor, who has appeared in many movies.

However, Tomlinson has now admitted that he previously struggled to compare his success to Styles’ and his other bandmates.

Talk to the Telegraph about Styles’ success surpassing that of him, Payne, Horan, and Zayn, Tomlinson said, “I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me at first. Only ‘cos I didn’t know where to place myself, and really my only point of reference was other members of the band.” Harry recently broke streaming records with “As It Was”, his number-one single.

However, Tomlinson continued to praise Harry and everything that he has accomplished on his own by adding, “It’s not surprising to me that Harry’s the most commercially successful because he really fits the mould of a modern star… He’s not just doing music, he’s got film as well. The tour he’s done is unbelievable.”

He added that he looked at Harry as a brother and man. I have a lot of pride for what he’s doing.” Our hearts!

Tomlinson previously spoke out about how he compared himself to Styles, Payne and Horan. In an interview with The GuardianLouis claimed that he was “forgettable” compared to his bandmates in 2017
