John Dean, White House Council for Nixon, was a CNN contributor and called the idea brilliant.

Zack Czajkowski was a field organizer for the former President Obama’s reelection campaign, and regional get out of the vote director for the former Virginia Governor. Terry McAuliffe also supported this idea.

“Why not Liz Cheney, the House’s transition Speaker? It’ll piss off both Democrats and Republicans. She’s a responsible adult with a conservative voting record, a proven ability to work across the aisle, and most importantly has unflappable morale courage under pressure,” Czajkowski tweeted.

The idea was not well received by others.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene indicated that Cheney would soon be searching for a job. However, it shouldn’t have to be in Congress.

“These folks live in an episode of The West Wing, while 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, can’t afford medical treatment, and are struggling to put food on the table. No, Liz ‘I voted against the John Lewis Voting Rights Act’ Cheney should not be speaker. Turner stated, “Never.”

Cheney spoke at a Nov. 11 gathering at the University of ChicagoShe said that she could imagine a situation where some GOP members vote in favor of former President Trump as House Speaker, since someone outside of Congress is eligible to be elected to this position.

“Imagine a scenario in which members at the end of the alphabet would say Donald Trump. Cheney stated that you don’t need to be a member to become a speaker. “If members of the Republican side stand up and say Donald Trump, that could have an impact on how many people speak it. Donald Trump may begin to see that as a loyalty test. This is the power he holds right now over Kevin McCarthy, and over many members of the Republican caucus leadership.
