After Leeds’ fourth Premier League loss in a row at Fulham, Jesse Marsch is under increasing pressure.
Boos rang round Elland Road, a rendition of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ broke out and fans left early as LeedsOn Sunday afternoon, he was relegated to the bottom of the table.
Rodrigo had given Leeds the lead in the 20th minute.
But their hard work was undone by Aleksandar Mitrovic just six minutes later, with the Serbian bringing his league goal tally this season above Brentford’s Ivan Toney and level with Spurs striker Harry Kane on nine.
FulhamBobby Reid won the second half, making it 2-1.
And after a string of chances for both sides, the visitors were soon 3-1 up, as Willian slid in to put the ball into the bottom corner, converting Harrison Reed’s cutback.
Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville then netted his first goal for the club in added time, but it was met with muted celebrations from the Elland Road faithful as it proved only to be a consolation prize.
Sunday’s result means Leeds have gone eight games without a win.
Leeds’ previous manager, Marcelo Bielsa, was sacked after losing four in a row at the start of 2022, spelling trouble for Jesse Marsch.
And talkSPORT’s Sunday Session co-host Perry Groves thinks the Leeds boss’ current string of results is drawing dangerous parallels with the Argentine.
“Everytime the Fulham player gets into the box,” Groves said as Leeds went 3-1 down.
“It looks like they’re going to knock it into the net, everything from Leeds is last ditch. That was the accusation under Marco Bielsa.”
Fulham climb to 7th place as they keep up their bright start to this campaign.
