The sequel to 2018’s Black Panther will see Wakanda mourning the loss of its protector and King, T’Challa played by the late Chadwick Boseman.
The Marvel studios decided against recasting the character T’Challa after Chadwick Boseman’s death with Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole’s story paying tribute to the late actor and also celebrating his legacy.
However, the studio said that they do not have plans to make them. Black Panther 3In San Diego Comic-Con’s D23 presentations, Kevin Feige, Marvel Boss, revealed that he has already had discussions with Ryan Coogler regarding a future Wakanda sequel.
Speak with Variety, in a recent interview, when asked about future plans for a new film, Kevin Feige revealed that he had “conversations” with Coogler about Black Panther 3 film with “ideas pitched back and forth.”
He also revealed that working without Coogler “wouldn’t be the preference.”
Kevin Feige continued, “I would want Ryan to do anything at any time because he’s a singular talent and a great person to spend years with.”
“I go back to what I said when we decided to make Wakanda Forever after losing Chad,” he added regarding the future of Wakanda, “This mythology and this ensemble and these characters deserve to continue and will continue after all of us are gone, I hope, and will continue forever in movies the way it has in comics for 50-plus years.”
Wakanda for Ever: Black Panther stars Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Dania Gurira, Martin Freeman, Lupita Nyong’o, Tenoch Huerta, and Dominique Thorne. The film was released in theatres on November 11, 2022.
