Kevin Conroy has died at the age of 66. He was known as Batman’s iconic voice.

Kevin Conroy, Batman’s most authoritative voice for more than thirty years. At the age of 66, he died.

With the 1992 debut of The Caped Crusader, the beloved actor was the first to assume the role of Caped Crusader. Batman: The Animated Series, who went on to voice Batman on a dizzying number of DC television and film shows, films, and award winning video games (including fan favorite like Arkham KnightAnd Arkham City. Conroy’s remarkable talent has left a handprint on the hearts of many, with fans and colleagues alike sharing touching tributes to the man behind the mask.  

Mark Hamill, who Joker was famously sungConroy’s Batman shared the following touching statement: “Kevin is perfection. He was one of my favorites people on the earth, and I loved his like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him — his decency shone through everything he did. My spirits lifted every time I spoke or saw him.

Andrea Romano, director of casting and dialogue, told The Hollywood Reporter, “Kevin was far more than an actor whom I had the pleasure of casting and directing — he was a dear friend for 30+ years whose kindness and generous spirit knew no boundaries. Kevin’s warm smile, deep laugh and pure love for life will always be with me.

Diane Pershing received tributes from colleagues. Poison IvyConroy is also in Batman: The Animated SeriesSharing: “He will be sorely missed, not just by the cast, but by his legion if fans all over the globe.”

Conroy fans and friends are sharing tributes to the icon on social media.
