People magazine asked her about her memories of working with Philbin. She said that she didn’t want anyone to feel that she was slamming anyone, or being disrespectful. It wasn’t an easy task. It took me years to get there and to be able to receive the same benefits that were given to my colleagues.
It has received criticism. Kathie Lee Gifford was another Philbin co-host. She stated that she believes in freedom of expression, but won’t be reading Ripa’s book.
“I’m a big believer in freedom of expression. I don’t believe we’re supposed to cancel anybody. She can tell her story the way she remembers it,” Gifford exclusively said to Fox News Digital.
“Regis has been a positive experience.Gifford stated that it was “one of the most memorable experiences of my entire lifetime.” “I had the pleasure of working with him for 15+ years. We have never spoken ill of each other.”

Gifford was a guest on “Live! Beginning in 1985, Gifford was a guest on “Live! She left the program at age 20.
Despite her difficult professional experience with Philbin, Ripa said that she enjoyed her time working with Philbin in real life.
Ripa said that “off camera and outside that building, it was another thing.” “The few times we shared together, I enjoyed so much. We went to the same resort once on vacation, and he came to a dinner I hosted – one of the favorite nights of my life. Never have I laughed so hard.”

Ripa isn’t the only one who had problems with Philbin behind closed doors.
Michael Strahan, who was by her side during “Live!” is not prominently missing from her book. For four years, beginning in 2012, he was there for her on “Live!” He abruptly quit the program to host “Good Morning America”
Strahan announced his resignation in 2016 after a turbulent relationship. Ripa learned of Strahan’s resignation only minutes prior The announcement was broadcast.
He stated to New York Times Magazine, 2020, that he was never treated like an equal. He believed he was hired to “a partner” not “a sidekick.”
“When it was the right time to go it was. “Some things that were happening behind-the scenes just caught up to me,” he stated.
